Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

The 85-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course is a meticulously designed program for existing yoga teachers to specialize in antenatal yoga. Spanning 15 days of intensive training under the guidance of Mallika, an expert with over 18 years of experience in prenatal yoga, this course equips participants with a deep understanding of pregnancy physiology, anatomy, and the appropriate yoga practices for each stage of pregnancy.

The training is structured into five modules. Module 1 focuses on the physiology of the female reproductive system and the changes that occur during pregnancy. Module 2 delves into the principles of yoga therapy specific to prenatal care, dietary considerations, safe asana practices across trimesters, breathing exercises, and other yogic techniques beneficial during pregnancy. Module 3 covers yoga philosophy, including teachings from the Patanjali Yoga Sutram and Bhagavad Gita, and insights into yogic physiology such as nadi, chakra, and prana. Module 4 is dedicated to practical sessions on how to conduct group prenatal yoga classes, including important safety checks and customized session planning. The final module, Module 5, discusses various research findings on prenatal yoga and addresses yoga therapy for special pregnancy cases like breech pregnancy and gestational diabetes, complemented by group discussions and assignments.

This training is essential for yoga teachers as general yoga practices often don’t cater to the unique needs of pregnant women. The specialized training ensures that participants can provide safe, effective, and supportive yoga instruction tailored to the requirements of expectant mothers.

The sessions are held annually from September to February, alternating between serene locations by the Ganga in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, and the picturesque sea in Varkala, Kerala. Interested participants can register by downloading the form from our website and submitting it via email. The comprehensive fee of 90,000 includes tuition, as well as boarding and lodging in a safe, clean environment with simple sattvik meals provided. Any specific dietary preferences need to be communicated in advance.

Mallika, a respected figure in the Delhi yoga community, leads the course. Having integrated her lifelong yoga practice with professional insights from her M.Sc in Yoga Therapy from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in prenatal yoga, ensuring that her trainees receive the highest quality education in this specialized field.
